Cold Pressed Rapeseed Oil

Rapeseed oil, known as Canola Oil in the United States, is a yellow plant grown by farmers throughout the world. The United Kingdom produces over 2 million metric tonnes each year.

Rapeseed oil used as a cooking oil alterative and as a biofuel to heat homes. The rapeseed oil plant works well as biodiesel. More countries, especially China, are using this resource as a renewable source of energy.

Palm oil and rapeseed oil production have been heavily criticised by environmental groups such as: Greenpeace and the WWF (World Wide Fund For Nature) for producing excess carbon emissions.

Rapeseed oil is a great alternative to the Mediterranean alterative of olive oil. A top quality rapeseed oil has an excellent balance of Omega 3, 6 and 9 properties, in comparison to olive oil and sunflower oil.

Palm oil, may produce more plants per square hectare than any other plant, but this oil produces 11 grams of saturated fat per 10g, whereas a cold pressed rapeseed oil contains only 7 grams of saturated fat.

It is important to have a low-level of saturated fats in our diets. Omega 6 promotes and maintains healthy skin, nails and hair.  Having Omega acids in your body is essential, because the human body can only gain this from eating certain foods.

Cold pressed rapeseed oil has a higher smoking point than other oils. For instance, Extra Virgin Olive Oil burns at 190℃ whereas rapeseed oil burns at 220℃.

For a healthier heart and diet choose rapeseed oil for your cooking.
